CONVENE

We convene opinion leaders and experts from across Canada around our table to share their knowledge and diverse perspectives. We stimulate debate and integrate polarities. We create a context for possibilities to emerge.

ADVISE

We generate ideas and provide realistic solutions to advise governments, Parliament and Canadians. We proceed with resolve and optimism to bring Canada’s economy and environment closer together.

Acknowledgements

Changing Currents is the result of the insights, perspectives, and advice of many experts, stakeholders, and citizens. The National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy would like to thank those who guided this first phase of water research; in particular, the following respective organizations for their assistance and partnership in coordinating our stakeholder meetings – Mining Association of Canada; Canadian Nuclear Association; Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers; Canadian Federation of Agriculture; Forest Products Association of Canada; and the Water Policy and Governance Group.

We would like to thank all stakeholders who took the time to participate in these sessions, whose perspectives were instrumental in guiding our research and ultimately the development of this report.

We would like to thank the numerous government officials, experts, and members of our Expert Advisory Committee for providing valuable input into the scope of research and report focus throughout the past year. Christopher Hilkene, Elizabeth Brubaker, Robert Slater, Richard Prokopanko, and Robert Sopuck helped guide the development of this report on behalf of the NRTEE members.

Many thanks to the consultants who helped the NRTEE in conducting the research, in particular Stratos Inc., for their assistance in the sector round table meetings and for their input into our research and findings.
