As Vice-Chair of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy, I am pleased to present Life Cycle Approaches for Sustainable Development. This report helps Canadians understand how Life Cycle Approaches can be used to maintain and enhance economic competitiveness and environmental stewardship.

Life Cycle Approaches allow us to understand and act upon both economic and environmental risks and opportunities for Canada. The message is clear – we need to act now to avoid these risks and take advantage of these opportunities. Action is needed in both the public and private sectors to ensure Canada’s growth is sustainable.

Life Cycle Approaches for Sustainable Development sets out recommendations on ways Canada could advance the domestic use of Life Cycle Approaches to ensure it is economically and environmentally healthy for generations to come.
