Annex 8: NRTEE Strategic Outcomes and Performance Indicators

Why is this Performance Report based on strategic outcomes described in the 2003–2004 Report on Plans and Priorities (RPP) instead of the 2002–2003 RPP? Our reporting on strategic outcomes has evolved as we’ve gained experience with reporting at this level.
Our first strategic outcomes, which appeared in the 2002–2003 RPP, were related to program results rather than agency results. As such, we reworked our strategic outcomes in the 2003–2004 RPP, and used these new strategic outcomes as the framework for reporting on progress in 2002–2003. We expect to finalize additional refinements to our strategic outcomes during the next fiscal year.

Performance Indicators
1. New relevant, useful and credible knowledge is produced.
2. New working partnerships are formed between industry, government, non-governmental organizations and other major societal actors.

 
3. There is broader awareness and understanding of problems, opportunities and practical solutions.

 
4. Decision makers in government, industry and other influential sectors consider the NRTEE’s findings, conclusions and recommendations in their policy and decision making.
