Working Paper # 18 – National Overview of Strategic Planning of Sustainable Development in Canada’s Provinces and Territories (May 1993)

The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the progress made in sustainable development planning in Canada. The study covers three main areas: (1) the approach taken by provincial and territorial governments to build multisectoral consensus with a view to preparing a sustainable development strategy; (2) the strategies developed by the round tables; and (3) government follow-up to the strategies proposed by the round tables.
