Working Paper # 17 - Corporate Sustainable Development Reporting in Canada. (March 1993)This report investigates the state of sustainable development reporting in Canadian corporations. This analysis looks at two corporate constituencies: (a) private business establishments, including some Crown corporations and agencies; and (b) industry and other associations, including some professional or trade associations, independent organizations that monitor corporate social and environmental responsibility, and international development organizations. This report assesses the gap between ideal and actual corporate reporting practices, sets out strategies to enhance what reporting does exist, and offers 18 recommendations to stakeholders to improve corporate performance in monitoring and reporting.
