We convene opinion leaders and experts from across Canada around our table to share their knowledge and diverse perspectives. We stimulate debate and integrate polarities. We create a context for possibilities to emerge.

ADVISE

We generate ideas and provide realistic solutions to advise governments, Parliament and Canadians. We proceed with resolve and optimism to bring Canada’s economy and environment closer together.

Donald MacKinnon

Donald MacKinnon has been the Power Workers’ Union President since 2000, after 11 years as the Union’s Vice President for transmission, distribution, hydroelectric and electrical safety. Mr. MacKinnon’s career in Ontario’s electricity sector has spanned over three decades, and includes nearly every aspect of the sector, from tradesperson to corporate director.

In his 29 years as a union activist, Mr. MacKinnon solidified his reputation as a skilled and innovative negotiator, seasoned in mutual gains approaches that reached enduring settlements that balanced business needs, and the rights and values of employees. Mr. MacKinnon is currently a member of the Hydro One Board of Directors where he also chairs that Board’s Health and Safety Committee. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Nuclear Association, and co-chairs the Health and Safety Advisory Committees at Ontario Power Generation and Bruce Power. Other past activities include appointments to the Ontario government’s Electricity Transition Committee and the Electricity Conservation and Supply Task Force.
